A current work in progress, this 1990’s home is undergoing renovations and additions inside and out to bring it up to date aesthetically and functionally for this modern family. This stately 6 bedroom home with 4 car detached garage with 2 bedroom apartment is nestled on 5 wooded acres in Athens, Ga. The main floor 2 bedrooms and full guest bath are in the process of being renovated with a 450 square foot addition to be converted into a luxurious master bedroom and bathroom suite with a sitting room, walk-in closets, and his and her bathrooms. The outdated sunroom with low ceilings, ceiling fans, brown terra cotta tile, and a brick wall was completely renovated with a vaulted ceiling now adorned with 2 crystal chandeliers and rustic cedar beams. The sunroom tile floor was replaced with large scale travertine tile slabs with warm white and gray veining. Erin addressed the pinky brick wall with a German Schmear technique which created a durable white washed look and warm feel to the room. Throughout the home, Erin worked with the General Contractor to raise doorway heights, enlarge cased openings, add rustic beams for character, upgrade lighting, replace windows with larger casement style windows, design a bathroom and walk-in closet addition for the daughter, design and renovate the basement with new flooring, lighting, coffered ceiling, kitchen, built-in wine cellar, work-out room, home office, and great room.
